It looked like we were going to get rained out. The entire week, it called for pouring rain on Saturday afternoon and night! While it did rain for the beginning part of this Brookside Gardens Maternity shoot, it was only a sprinkle! It even cleared up by the end of our shoot and we had some SUN! I am so thankful that Lizzie and Clark were willing to shoot even though there was a potential for rain! Every time I get to break out my clear umbrellas I am so excited because while rain isn’t what people want for their shoot, it can make for some really vibrant colors and romantic pictures!
We chose Brookside Gardens for their maternity session and it was a PERFECT choice. Lizzie said she wanted a gardeny/springtimey/floraly feel for her pictures and there is no better place than this! One of my favorite parts of Brookside Garden is the rose garden. While there aren’t roses this time of year yet, there is sometimes still Wisteria left over (that dreamy purple flower that hangs down). Brookside has one area in the rose garden that is covered in Wisteria! I was nervous that we would miss it since most of it has wilted, but there was still a little left and it was AMAZING!
Lizzie and Clark are serious troopers. After our shoot, I can tell that they will be great parents! I have zero experience in parenting but from what I hear, you have to be ready for anything and willing to just go with whatever happens. You never know what changes kids will bring! Rain for anyone would have been a bit of a downer (especially since it was also cold!) but these two just went with it. They were smiling and laughing the entire time and didn’t complain once! I always feel so bad when it’s supposed to rain for a shoot and give people the option to reschedule and Lizzie’s response was “I loved your rainy pictures from April and Steve’s wedding! Let’s shoot in the rain!” I was so happy to hear that!
Thank you both for being so easy going, full of joy, and making this so fun for me too! I loved our time together and can’t wait to meet your sweet baby boy. I know he will have two wonderful parents who already love him so much! One day you can show him pictures from his first “unofficial” family photoshoot!
