A Case of the Mondays

July 10, 2017

Wow has a lot happened since my last “Case of the Mondays” post! I am well overdue for another one. Life has been pretty busy over the last month or two! If you’ve been following along on my social media (namely instagram, I sure do love those stories) you have probably stayed pretty up to date. But if not, you may be wondering where I have been for the last two months! Here’s a little snapshot of life in the Schaefer household lately:

The biggest update is that we moved! It’s still kind of crazy that we don’t live in this house anymore. Toby and I lived there for 3 years! It was our first home together and we had so many great memories there. I loved living here and am a little sad that we moved, but overall I’m excited for whatever is next! Don’t worry, we are still local! We just moved a few minutes up the road into Toby’s brother & wife’s basement apartment. They have a sweet baby girl and I’ve gotta say she’s the cutest roommate ever!

Another big update in the Schaefer house, Toby started a business!! I am so proud of this guy. He is 100% the hardest worker I have ever met and has been pouring so much time and effort into this company. This is from one of their recent roofing jobs! If you or anyone you know is looking to have any exterior work done (roofing, siding, gutters) Toby is your guy! His company will give you a free estimate, just call 703-628-7663 or visit their website. Proud wife over here. Also, I’m no graphic designer but I may have designed their yard signs and I’m pretty proud of my Photoshop skills!

Last week for the 4th of July, Toby and I had a bit of a double vacation! It could not have come at a more perfect time. We had just finished our big move, Toby just launched his company and had been working non stop, and I just wrapped up another big chunk of my summer season! Toby actually drove down a few days before me and I drove down after a wedding (yes at 11 at night, I was terrified of hitting a deer). My mom and step dad rented a house in Nelly’s Ford VA on the Devils Backbone Brewery property! It was the coolest house ever. It was walking distance from Devil’s Backbone which is now my favorite brewery, and also a one minute drive from Bold Rock! I was busy relaxing so I didn’t get too many pictures over the week, so enjoy the few iPhone pictures I did remember to take.

Highlights from the first part of the week: Bold Rock Cidery (I am obsessed!) was such a cool place! We went twice because we liked it so much. The guys spent most of the time fishing. They also went golfing at a really cool golf course on top of a mountain! We went swimming in a lake that had a huge trampoline over the water and an inflatable climbing tower in the water. That was one of my favorite things ever! On our last day, we went river tubing which is always so fun.

On the 4th, we left that house and drove down to Cullowhee NC to my grandparents cabin! My Aunt, Uncle, and cousins were up from Florida and it was so fun getting to spend time with everybody. Toby helped Papa with a few construction projects. They did not appreciate me stopping their work and asking them to wave for a picture. We went on a pontoon boat and did some tubing which was a BLAST! Thankfully there is not a picture of me flying off the tube, although I’m pretty sure a video exists. It was a week filled with family, good food, sunshine, and lots of relaxation!

We also realized that it was 5 years ago that week when Toby and I first started dating that he came to my grandparents for the first time! We had gone down for the 4th of July in 2012. Toby and I had literally been dating for two weeks. If you know Toby, you know it’s pretty crazy that he agreed to that so soon in our relationship! But when you know 🙂 It was fun to reminisce on our first trip together and think that now we’ve been married for 3 years. Best 3 years of my life!

Last week! 4th of July week 2017

Lastly, (although this is not in order) I shot a wedding just before vacation! It was such an amazing wedding and I can’t wait to share the rest of it on the blog very soon, but for now here is a sneak peak.
