I have been DYING to share this shoot with you for a month! This East Beach Bridal Session is easily one of my favorite shoots of all time. I don’t get many requests for bridal portraits anymore, sadly a sign that I live in the north now! It’s a southern tradition that I absolutely love (and would LOVE to bring up here to Nova)! Having a bridal portrait session has a few benefits: First, it gives you a chance to try your dress on again before your wedding! You get to walk around in it and if figure out if anything needs to be fixed or changed before the wedding. Second, it saves you some time on your wedding day! You already have all of your bridal portraits out of the way so there’s no need to schedule extra time for more! Third, you likely spent a lot of money on your dress and you want to make sure you get some great pictures of yourself in it! We can take all the time we need during bridal portraits to make sure you get lots of options. It’s a win-win!
Bethany chose to take her bridal portraits at the cutest little beach town. She’s from Chesapeake like me, which means she’s 50% country girl and 50% beach girl. We got the country feel with her engagement shoot and wedding (pictures coming soon!) so she really wanted to have some beachy pictures also! We chose East Beach because while beach pictures are amazing, most beaches in Chesapeake don’t have a lot else in regards to backgrounds. East Beach was the perfect little town! It’s a beach town filled with gorgeous trees, a seashell park, tall beach grass, adorable beach cottages, huge beach rocks and an incredible sunset!
I still can’t get over how amazing her dress is. I absolutely love it and it was so fun to photograph! I also love how easy going and adventurous Bethany is. When we got to the beach rocks, I was like “okay Bethany, now we can stand in front of these rocks and it will look amazing and beachy and so beautiful, but if you’re feeling adventurous, it would look really awesome if you climbed on the rocks”. without hesitation, she said “oh yeah, I’ll definitely climb up the rocks!” Seriously is she not the best?! And the pictures were so worth it!
As a UGA alum(ni? nus? na? I have no idea), I love that she incorporated her alma mater into her wedding day in her boots! Bethany ordered the most amazing bull dog boots to wear under her dress. It’s little personal touches like that one that makes the wedding so special! Her day was nothing short of perfect and I can’t wait to share that with you too, but in the meantime, here are my favorites from the greatest bridal session ever!
