Okay it’s been a bit since I was on the blog and even more ironic, the last blog post I wrote was titled “back to blogging”! Wow I underestimated what working with a baby would be like! But I’m back today with Courtney and Kenny’s elegant Fairmont DC wedding! So much has happened over the last year. I had a baby (who is almost one!!), then I had surgery, my sister got married, my other sister got engaged, we bought a house, life has been crazy! It’s been so difficult trying to navigate business ownership and motherhood. Thankfully I have had the most amazing clients who have been so patient with me and a supportive husband who has been helping me restructure my business with new systems that work with having a toddler! It’s been quite a year guys.
A lot WILL be coming to the blog (okay I know I said that last time but this time I have pre-typed blog posts so it definitely will) over the next couples of weeks! But today, I get to share my very first wedding of the year, Courtney and Kenny! I can’t say enough good things about this day. First of all, I want to be friends with Courtney and all of her friends. They are SO much fun! I felt like I was hanging out with friends all day and they did such a good job of keeping the celebration up. Great music, tons of laughs and tears, epic dancing. These girls were the best. Courtney and Kenny exchanged gifts in the morning before their first look and everyone in the room was freaking out when we saw the Gucci bag!
We were battling rain on their wedding day but you would never know it! These two were so laid back and we flew threw our outdoor pictures before it started. Thankfully, the hotel is STUNNING so there were plenty of places to finish pictures inside! For the first time in my career the indoor pictures from this day might be my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a sucker for greenery and gardens, but this hotel was a dream.
The weather cleared up in time for cocktail hour and they had a string quartet serenading their guests out in the patio area. Since they did a first look, Courtney and Kenny got to join in and have drinks and appetizers with all of their friends and family! It was such a perfect setting for their cocktail hour and I’m so glad they got to enjoy it.
The reception was a blast! They have such a fun group of friends. Even I couldn’t stay off the dance floor! I was sad to go home at the end of the night (that’s when you KNOW it was a good night). Courtney and Kenny, I’m so thankful I got to be a part of your wedding day. I hope you guys love reliving this day for years to come!
Thanks to the amazing vendor team for making this day possible!
